どんぶり【丼】(1)〔「どんぶりばち」の略〕茶碗(チヤワン)より深く大ぶりで厚みのある陶製の鉢。(2)「どんぶり物」に同じ。(3)職人などの腹掛けの前部に付けてある物入れ。(4)更紗(サラサ)・緞子(ドンス)などで作った大きな袋。 江戸時代， 若い遊び人などが用いた。
